Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in a press conference after the meeting of the GST Council that the idea was to impose GST on food delivery apps like Swiggy, Zomato, but in this case many such issues were raised on which there was a lack of clarity, due to which the Council in It has not been decided to impose any new tax on the delivery service. But it has been agreed upon that at the time of food delivery, app taxis will collect the tax at the place of delivery i.e. at the delivery point and then pay it later. This app will collect the tax that the restaurant owners charge.

Petrol and diesel not under the purview of GST

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made it clear in the press conference after the council meeting that talks were held in this council to bring petrol and diesel under GST. The reason for this discussion was done only to fulfill an order of the Kerala High Court, so it was included in the agenda. But the GST Council has decided not to include it in the purview of GAC, and the council has agreed that the right time has not come.
