The pair of Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan is considered to be one of the most popular couples of B-Town. There was a time when Amitabh Bachchan was fighting with life and death. His condition had become so critical that he was put on a ventilator, in a way, the doctor declared him dead. But Jaya Bachchan’s blessings brought Amitabh Bachchan’s life back.

There was a serious injury on the sets of Coolie

On August 2, 1982, when Amitabh Bachchan was injured while performing an action scene on the sets of Coolie. A fight scene with actor Puneet Issar was shot in the Bangalore University campus, during which Amitabh Bachchan took such a jump or due to which he got seriously injured. Not only this, there was massive internal bleeding. Amitabh Bachchan once told that I was in a coma at that time. I had a ruptured intestine in an accident on the sets and then underwent surgery which was almost an emergency. Another surgery had to be done as the stitches broke. At that time my BP had become zero.

Jaya reached the hospital with Hanuman Chalisa

Bollywood industry’s famous actress Jaya Bachchan once told while talking that when I reached the hospital, my brother-in-law said where were you, I was looking for you. I said that I had gone home to see the children. Then he took me there and he explained to me. But I thought it can’t happen I was praying at that time I had Hanuman Chalisa in my hand Dr. Dastur passed by and said it’s only your prayer that will help. But I could not read it. I could not see what he was doing. Doctors were treating him. He was giving injection, the doctor gave up, then I saw his toe moving, then said that his toe was found, after that he returned.
