The instant messaging app has introduced flash call and message level reporting features as part of its efforts to make the platform more secure.

What is Flash Call feature?
With the new Flash Call feature, users will now have the option to verify their phone number through an automated call. Till now the number could be verified only through SMS. This needs to be done when the user starts WhatsApp on a new phone or reinstalls it on another phone. Currently, this feature is available only for Android users.

What is Message Level Reporting?
At the same time, through the message level reporting feature, WhatsApp users can now report the account to WhatsApp by marking any specific message. This can be done with a long tap on any message.
