India Tour Of South Africa 2021: Suhaib Manjra, Chief Medical Officer of South Africa Cricket, said that Cricket South Africa has assured the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that even if the country’s borders are closed due to the rise in Omicron cases, the Indian cricket team will be allowed to leave the country.

Team India will be allowed to go out even if the borders are closed

South African outlet News 24 quoted the CSA medical officer as saying, “If the borders are closed due to the new variant Omicron of Corona, then the government has given a guarantee that they will allow the Indian team to go back to India.”

Manjra further said, “We are making sure that the Indian team is not only safe here and if they need to leave for any reason then the way is open for them to go in any situation.”

The Indian team will start a three-match Test series against South Africa from December 26, followed by the second Test in Johannesburg from January 3 to 7 and the third Test in Cape Town from January 11 to 15. After the Test series, a three-match ODI series will be played, whose matches will be held on January 19, 21 and 23.

The series will not stop if the player is infected with corona

Cricket South Africa’s medical officer Suhaib Manjra said, “We discussed with India and agreed a protocol. Given that everyone has been vaccinated inside the bio-bubble, then if a positive case comes to the fore and if his condition is stable, then he will remain isolated inside the hotel. On the other hand, if a player comes virus positive, then the doctors of the team concerned will take care of the players.
