External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin discussed new opportunities for bilateral defense industrial cooperation. The Pentagon, the headquarters of the US Department of Defense, said that this will increase India’s contribution as a regional security provider. Jaishankar, who is on a four-day official visit to Washington, went to the Pentagon on Monday to meet Austin. Giving information about the meeting, the Pentagon said that India and America are moving towards another advanced stage in their partnership. Austin and Jaishankar committed to expanding information-sharing and logistics cooperation for deeper operational coordination between US and Indian forces.
