What does this concern about the health of ‘Netaji’ mean?

Today, in the era in which politics has reached, the popularity of Mulayam Singh Yadav is now left for only a few elected leaders. Otherwise, all the leaders are such that when they leave the world, they become victims of criticism and criticism, not the sympathy of the people. … Mulayam Singh Yadav is a leader from the ground up. That’s why he has a direct connection with each of his workers. his supporters, Do not tire of praising his generous behavior. to millions of people ,Netaji, helped him to stand on his feet.

Socialists from North India have been gathering at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for a few days now. All these are troubled by the deteriorating health of Samajwadi Party leader and Ram Manohar Lohia’s disciple Mulayam Singh Yadav. Since such crowds are not allowed in the hospital, all these fans have gathered outside the house of Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav in Pandara Park, New Delhi. At this critical juncture, Akhilesh, despite being tired, is meeting every visitor and comforting them. The most disturbed are those people from thousands of villages of Uttar Pradesh who cannot even come to Gurugram, so they are gathering at the houses of local leaders and asking them again and again the condition of ‘Netaji’. There has been no significant improvement in Netaji’s health. This caused frustration among their lovers. Like the fans of a celebrity usually do in such times, similarly the lovers of ‘Netaji’ are also performing religious rituals or prayers, wishing health according to their religion and faith.

There is nothing new in what I have written so far. Everyone knows this through news. Whenever a big and popular leader of the country is seriously ill or dies, then there is a similar reaction of his fans. Then what is the purpose of writing this article? In fact, in the era in which politics has reached, such popularity is now left of only a few elected leaders. Otherwise, all the leaders are such that when they leave the world, they become victims of criticism and criticism, not the sympathy of the people.

Everyone knows that Mulayam Singh Yadav is a leader raised from the ground. That’s why he has a direct connection with each of his workers. His supporters never tire of praising his generous behaviour. Netaji helped millions of people to stand on their feet. Whereas usually, the leaders change their attitudes as soon as they get power and they turn their backs on their workers. In forty years of journalism, I have seen the rise and fall of dozens of top leaders at the national level. Most of them have such misfortune that even a fly does not fly to their house as soon as they are removed from power.

I remember many moments spent in these four decades with ‘Netaji’ on different occasions, which give an introduction to his personality. Back in 1990, I was preparing a TV report for Kalachakra Video Magazine. The title of which was ‘English Bina Bhi Kya Jeena’. In this report our camera team was recording the pros and cons of English from different sections of the society. In those days, the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh ‘Netaji’ was laying great emphasis on adopting Hindi language. He argued that English enslaves us. Therefore, all government work should be done in the language of the common man. So to make my TV report more powerful, I went to Lucknow to interview Mulayam Singh.

He spoke candidly in front of the camera in his office. This meeting should have ended here. But he urged me to take him home and have food. Upon reaching home, Netaji and I sat face to face, not on a table-chair, but on two beds. Then the teenagers of the family came to wash their hands with bucket, lota and towel. Netaji told him to bow down to uncle and all the boys touched my feet without any hesitation like disciplined children. In the modern journalism world of Delhi, this culture does not hold any importance. But all of us coming from small towns give such values to our children. Because in our Sanatan culture it is said, ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’.

Then the sattvik food was served on the bed itself after decorating the bowl in brass plates and then the hands were washed in the same way. All this was happening so smoothly, yet it impressed me a lot. I have no hesitation in saying that these values have been inherited by Akhilesh Yadav, the son of Netaji. Be it Samajwadi Party or any other political party, I have no membership related to anyone. Still, Akhilesh Yadav respects not only me but every visitor in the same way as ‘Netaji’ has been doing. In 2012-17, when he was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, BJP MP from Mathura, Hema Malini told me, “Akhilesh is a very good young man. Whatever work I tell them, they get it done immediately.” Whereas today there are many leaders who consider the leaders of their opposing parties as enemies.

Another memoir with ‘Netaji’ is even more inspiring. My father was the Vice Chancellor of Purvanchal University in 1988-91. There was a huge public meeting of ‘Netaji’ in Jaunpur. There was only one chair for ‘Netaji’ in front of the mike on the high stage. My father was sitting in the first row in the VIP circle below. ‘Netaji’ got down from the helicopter and went straight to the stage. While wearing the garlands, he asked the organizers, “Where is the Vice-Chancellor sir?” This voice was heard on the mic. When he came to know that my father was sitting in the VIP circle downstairs, he reprimanded the organisers, “You are not ashamed. The biggest educationist of the district was put down. Bring them up respectfully. On reaching father’s stage, ‘Netaji’ garlanded him and started his speech by sitting on the chair attached to him. Seeing this, everyone went mad.

The third experience was when I was underground after the Chief Justice of India exposed the land scam as I was being tried for contempt of court. I used to meet many leaders of the country during this time and demand to do something for judicial reforms. When I met ‘Netaji’ he got very upset and said, “You have not spared anyone from the Hawala scandal to Aaj Tak. Everyone has become enemies. Now leave all this. I will set you up politically.” I said, ‘If the horse makes friends with the grass, what will it eat? This happens in fearless journalism.

One experience will surprise the readers very much. In 1994, two Judges of Allahabad High Court, Uttar Pradesh Governor Motilal Vora, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and I were invited to address the Association of Advocates from all over Uttar Pradesh at Ravindralaya in Lucknow. In my speech that day, I made some scathing remarks on the rule of ‘Netaji’. At which there was thunderous applause in the entire hall. But ‘Netaji’ didn’t mind at all. If there were leaders like today, they would not have talked to me again in life or would have caused any harm to me. But there was no difference in the behavior of ‘Netaji’. Due to such behavior, today everyone is wishing for his speedy recovery.
