Warrant issued against Yasin Malik in kidnapping case

Jammu. A Jammu court on Wednesday issued a production warrant against Yasin Malik on the next date of hearing in the Rubaiya Saeed kidnapping case. Rubaiya was kidnapped in Kashmir in 1989 and freed in exchange for the release of five terrorists. The next hearing of the case is on October 20. Earlier, Malik was insisting on appearing in the court. CBI counsel Monica Kohli said Rubaiya Saeed was cross-examined on behalf of the other accused.

Yasin Malik has applied to appear in court, court has issued production warrant, Yasin Malik will be present on the next date of hearing. On July 15, Malik and four others were identified by Rubaiya Saeed, daughter of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and sister of former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti. In May this year, a National Investigation Agency (NIA) court had sentenced separatist leader Yasin Malik to life imprisonment in the terror funding case. (IANS)
