Voting for the first phase of Jharkhand Panchayat elections today

Ranchi, Polling for the first phase of Jharkhand Panchayat elections is on Saturday. Voting is in the first phase in Kisco and Pesharar blocks of Lohardaga district. A total of 150 polling parties left the Collectorate premises on Friday for voting. Earlier on Thursday, 21 polling parties had left for the first phase of polling. All the polling parties were dispatched with the polling material. His Sector Magistrate was also present along with all the polling parties.

Voting will start from 7 am. It will last till three o’clock in the afternoon. Security related instructions were given by Superintendent of Police R Ramkumar. The first phase of polling will start from 7 am and will continue till 3 pm. 109 polling stations have been set up in Kisco block and 62 in Pesharar block. There are total 40,802 voters in Kisco Block, out of which 20,473 are male and 20,329 are female. There are total 20,608 voters in Pesharar Block, out of which 10,657 are male and 9,951 are female. 21 clusters have been made in Kisco block and 08 in Pesharar block.

In the first phase of the Giridih Panchayat elections, all the preparations for the voting have been completed at the administrative level in the three blocks of the district, Giridih, Jamua and Gandey. For this, the polling personnel were sent to the booth centers on Friday. It was informed that in all the three blocks, voting will be held for a total of 1521 posts of Zilla Parishad, Mukhiya, Panchayat Samiti and Ward members. A total of 3391 candidates are in the fray against these posts. In this, 391 candidates have been elected unopposed before the election.
