Porbandar District Collector AM Sharma said, ‘The situation is now under control. There was some protest from the local people regarding the sabotage operation but the situation was well controlled by the police. No major untoward incident has taken place and eight illegal structures have been demolished. Two days ago, the anti-encroachment drive was launched in Gir-Somnath district.

On October 2, the police demolished 12 illegal structures in Vadodara Jala village of Sutrapada taluka. At the same time, the police had recently seized drugs worth ₹ 5 crore from this area. In order to curb such activities in future, the revenue department and police department have demolished illegal structures.

Communal tension continues in Vadodara

On the other hand, communal tension continues in Vadodara, Gujarat. There was a ruckus here over the installation of a religious flag on an electric pole located near a temple. People on the other side opposed it. After this a situation of tension arose here. The police have arrested about 40 people in the case. While the rest are being identified. In this case, the police have registered a case against 43 people on the basis of both the sides. In view of the situation, the police has deployed a large number of police forces on the spot.
