Jaipur. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts are relevant for the whole world today and said that violence has no place in Gandhi’s country. He said that by studying his autobiography ‘The Experiment of Truth’ written by Gandhiji, Gandhian thinking would be developed in the younger generation.
Shri Gehlot was addressing the Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha and Gandhi Sadbhavna Samman ceremony organized on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. He said that Mahatma Gandhi gave the message of truth and non-violence to the world through his thoughts and lifestyle. His non-violent ideology inspired the country’s independence movement. He said that the whole world is grappling with violence and unrest. In such times, only Gandhian thinking can lead the world towards peace and non-violence. He said that Gandhiji started his public life in South Africa where he conducted satyagraha to end the apartheid policy of the government. His autobiography ‘The Experiments of Truth’ written by Gandhiji is a unique work based on the philosophy of truth and non-violence. Today’s young generation must read it. Through its study, Gandhian thinking will be developed in the younger generation.
The Chief Minister said that today India is respected all over the world because of the non-violent ideology strengthened in the country by Gandhiji. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Shri Gehlot honored five Gandhian thinkers with Gandhi Sadbhavna Samman, who did excellent service to the society, following the ideology of Gandhiji. The Chief Minister said that Gandhi Sadbhavna Samman would be given every year to Gandhian thinkers doing excellent work for the society. Along with this, he also inaugurated the Integrated Portal of the Department of Information and Technology.
