UTI-MAC’s investment of Rs 2000 crore in DHFL should be probed: CPI MP

New Delhi. Communist Party of India (CPI) MP Vinay Viswam has urged Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to investigate the alleged investment of Rs 2,000 crore by UTI Asset Management Company in scam-hit Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL). The bank fraud case against the promoters of DHFL is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Viswam wrote a letter to the Finance Minister saying, “All citizens are waiting for the results of the investigation into the DHFL scam.” In such a situation, there is a need for investigation and forensic audit of the investment of Rs 2000 crore by UTI-MAC. He alleged that public disclosure of information regarding this investment is also being prevented by UTI Trustee Company and SEBI.
