Urmila Matondkar said, “Ever since I have seen Usha Tai on stage, I have been seeking her blessings. When I was growing up, I saw him perform in theaters and I have known him since then. It was long before the launch of ‘Pavitra Rishta’, when we had a special bond. Even though we have become big and famous today, but it is our upbringing that we always take the blessings of our elders with great humility. Today I feel proud that I belong to Marathi theatre, as the best of the best Usha Tai has been one of the most celebrated names in the industry.

Urmila further said, ‘It would be wrong to say that she can only play the role of a selfish and arrogant mother-in-law because from the time I did not know anything about acting, I have seen her great performance. I have seen him deliver amazing performances where he plays roles and characters that will blow your mind.
