Two smugglers arrested with brown sugar in Chatra

Chatra. In Chatra, Jharkhand, the police arrested two smugglers of an inter-state gang with 36 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 3.7 lakh near Gandharia Mor located on Chatra-Itkhori road of Sadar police station area on Thursday.

Chatra’s sub-divisional police officer Avinash Kumar said that the arrested smugglers have been identified as Manoj Saw and Nanku alias Taleshwar Saw of Rajpur police station area. He said that the value of the recovered brown sugar is Rs 3.70 lakh in the international market. He said that on the basis of a tip-off received by the Superintendent of Police, the police raided and seized the Hero Passion Pro bike used in smuggling and two smartphones of different companies and a keypad mobile besides brown sugar. He said that a case has been registered in this regard under the NDPS Act. (Language)
