Chaibasa. Police arrested two motorcycle-borne youths and recovered 23 packets of brown sugar from them at Bus Stand Chowk in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district headquarters of Jharkhand.
West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Shekhar said that a case was registered in this regard under section 22B of the NDPS Act related to prohibition of drugs at Sadar police station and both the accused were produced in the local court. which has sent him to judicial custody.
The SP said that the police had received information that the accused were coming to Chaibasa on a motorcycle from Jamshedpur via Rajnagar with illegal drugs. He said that on the basis of the information, the police took quick action and nabbed the accused Manish Kumar Khirwal and Sanjeev Kumar Sinha riding on the motorcycle and recovered 23 packets of brown sugar from them.
