Pitch Curator of Abu Dhabi Ground Dies: Mohan Singh, the chief pitch curator of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium, passed away on Sunday. He died a few hours before the T20 World Cup match between Afghanistan and New Zealand. UAE Cricket sources confirmed this unfortunate news to news agency PTI-Bhasha. The cause of his death, however, is not yet known. A detailed statement in this regard is expected to be issued soon.

A source said, “The incident happened only today and when things are more clear, the full details will come out. It is very unfortunate.’ Mohan worked in Mohali under the supervision of former BCCI chief curator Daljit Singh before moving to the UAE in the early 2000s.

Daljit, who served Indian cricket for almost 22 years, is shocked to hear the news of Mohan’s death. He told PTI-language, ‘He was a small child when he came to me. He was a very talented and hardworking person. He was from Garhwal and I am remembering him as a family man too. Daljit said, ‘After going to UAE, he used to meet me whenever he came to the country, but we had not met for some time. He left too soon. This is really sad.
