Trade unions strike has wide impact in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal. On the first day of the two-day national strike by trade unions against the alleged anti-labour policies of the central government, its widespread impact was seen in Madhya Pradesh including the capital Bhopal and banking operations were badly affected.
On the call of the country’s major trade unions, officers and employees working in banking, insurance, postal, income tax, BSNL, transport, port and aviation sectors were asked to join the strike. In Madhya Pradesh, except State Bank of India (SBI), services of all other banks were badly affected. Apart from SBI in Bhopal, there was no work in any other bank.

VK Sharma, coordinator of United Front of Trade Unions, Madhya Pradesh said that the strike has been completely successful in Bhopal and the state. The workers involved in the strike gathered near the Neelam Park on the banks of the small lake here and a meeting was organized by protesting. Similar demonstrations were held in other towns and cities as well.
