Ashes Series: Since the retirement of Sir Alastair Cook in the year 2018, the England team has not been able to find the opening pair. In the last 3 years, the English team tried 9 different pairs for the opening, but till now this search is not over. In these three years, the opening pair of Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns was the only pair whose average partnership is above 30 runs. However, after a 275-run loss in the Adelaide Test, England reshuffled it once again.

England tried 4 openers this year, this was their performance
1. Rory Burns: 530 runs (6 times out for zero) in 19 innings at 27.89
2. Dom Sibley: 356 runs (4 times out for zero) in 20 innings at an average of 19.77
