This tradition is going to start after 235 years in Shri Badrinath Dham

Dehradun | Badrinath Dham: The doors of Badrinath Dham, the most important of the Char Dhams of Uttarakhand, are being closed again for 6 months in winter. The doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will be closed on 19 November. With this, the Char Dham Yatra will also come to an end. This year the doors of Badrinath Dham were opened for the devotees on Sunday, 08 May 2022.

This is going to happen after 235 years
The tradition of presence of Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth is going to start once again at the time of closing of doors of Shri Badrinath Dham on 19th November. In such a situation, this occasion will happen after 235 years when Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj will be present at the time of closing the doors of Badrinath Dham. This tradition had stopped for many years, which is being started again.

Shri Badrinath Dham is one of the four Dhams of India.
Badrinath Dham is also a major Dham among the Char Dhams of India. This Dham is situated on the banks of Alaknanda River in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Lord Vishnu resides here. By worshiping Lord Vishnu in Badrinath Dham, all the sins of a man are erased and he attains salvation.

Badrinath Dham: Significantly, the Char Dham of Uttarakhand is closed for devotees for 6 months in winter. After this, once again in the month of May in the summer season, the gates of the four shrines are opened for the devotees. This time the doors of Kedarnath Dham, Gangotri Dham and Yamunotri Dham were closed before Shri Badrinath Dham.
