Encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag, hybrid terrorist of Lashkar killed by security forces

Srinagar. A hybrid terrorist was killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday morning. A police official said that the police team had taken the hybrid terrorist killed in the encounter to the area to identify a terrorist hideout.

According to the official, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Cheki Dudu area of ​​Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district following specific information about the presence of terrorists. When the search party reached the suspected hideout, the terrorists opened fire in which Sajjad Tantre, a Kulgam-based LeT hybrid terrorist, was killed, Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

Police further wrote, the search team had reached Tantre along with them to identify the terrorist hideout. Tantray was taken to SDH Bijbehara, where doctors declared him brought dead. Officials said Tantre was involved in the murder of a migrant laborer at Rakhmomen in Bijbehara on November 13.

“Hybrid terrorist Sajjad Tantre was earlier an associate of Lashkar terrorists and was released from PSA. Tantre revealed during interrogation that he had attacked two migrant laborers on 13 November 2022 at Rakhmomen in Bijbehara, Anantnag, in which both were seriously injured. He told, Chhota Prasad, a laborer injured in the attack, died in the hospital on 18 November 2022. On the disclosure of Tantre, the weapon (pistol) and vehicle used in the incident were also recovered.

According to the police, investigation is on to arrest more associates of the terrorists of this module. Hybrid terrorists are unlisted terrorists who, after committing terrorist acts, often lead a regular life without leaving any trace.
