Army soldier shot dead over love affair

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh). A 24-year-old army jawan, who had come home to celebrate Diwali, was allegedly shot dead by his girlfriend’s husband and seven others near Aligarh. The victim, Beacon Kumar and his uncle were on their way to Aligarh in their car when eight men attacked them with sticks and sharp objects, who shot dead the jawan. The incident is from Rasulpur village of Tappal police station area. Beacon Kumar’s father Janta Singh said, there was a relationship between my son and the wife of one of the accused. She was killed by her husband, Vijaypal, her brother Bablu and six other members of their family. A case under section 302 (murder) of the IPC has been registered at Tappal police station.

Police said that three accused have been arrested so far and Vijaypal is still absconding. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kalanidhi Naithani said, the man was killed over an affair with Vijaypal’s wife. Eight people have been booked, out of which three have been apprehended. Premveer Singh, brother of the deceased said, Beakan Kumar was selected in the Indian Army in 2017 and was posted in Hoshiarpur. When he left the house along with my uncle and others, some villagers attacked his car and shot him in the head. He was taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. (IANS)
