Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed Kanya Pujan

Gorakhpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday performed special worship of Guru Gorakhnath and ‘Kanya Pujan’ at the Gorakhnath temple on the occasion of Navami in Navratri. During Kanya Pujan, the Chief Minister pakhare the feet of the little girls, performed aarti and gave them Dakshina and gifts. After that he performed Batuk Puja as Gorakshpeethadhishwar according to the tradition.

Adityanath also performed special worship of Guru Gorakhnath, who is considered an incarnation of Lord Shiva. After Kanya Pujan, the Chief Minister while highlighting the importance of women in Sanatan Dharma said that the tradition of worshiping Goddess Durga twice a year for nine days symbolizes the feeling of respect for women in Sanatan Dharma. He said that Navratri and Vijayadashami remind us to walk on the path of truth and also remember that victory always comes with truth and justice. The Chief Minister said that Navratri was not celebrated in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the grace of Maa Bhagwati, events are being organized this time.

Terming the security of Durga Puja pandals as top priority, Adityanath appealed to the public to celebrate the festival in a safe and responsible manner. He said that the worship committees will have to ensure all kinds of security arrangements.
