Newborn The facility of registration of children’s birth certificates as well as their ‘Aadhaar’ number is expected to be available in all the states in the next few months. Government sources gave this information. At present, the facility of Aadhaar registration of newborn children is available in 16 states. This process started a year ago and gradually many states got involved in it. Work is going on in this direction in other states also. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) expects this facility to be rolled out in all states in the next few months. This will be easy for those people in whose house a child has been born.

No biometric till the age of five

Biometric information is not collected for children up to the age of five years. This information is updated when the child is five and then 15 years old. Sources said that now the aim is to ensure that the child’s Aadhaar is issued along with the birth certificate and for this UIDAI is working with the Registrar General of India. He said that computer based system of birth registration is needed for this process and this facility is being started in the states where it is available. According to sources, whenever a birth certificate is issued in these 16 states, its message is sent to the UIDAI system. After this, as soon as the details like photograph and address of the child are received, his Aadhaar number is generated.

Update facility will start soon

The infrastructure of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is fully geared up to bear the burden of new data for updating information related to Aadhaar holders. Sources said this on Friday. It is noteworthy that UIDAI earlier this week urged people to update all the information including the address of the place of residence if their Aadhaar was issued more than 10 years ago and its details have not been updated since then. . Sources said there would be residents whose Aadhaar was generated more than 10 years ago and they have not updated it as their place of residence and other documents may be there. In this case also there is a need to update. Accordingly, in order to provide convenience to the Aadhaar holders, the authority has prepared a new feature for updating documents. It can be accessed ‘online’ through ‘My Aadhaar Portal’, ‘My Aadhaar App’. Apart from this, residents can also take advantage of the facility by going to the place where Aadhaar is being made. The new feature that has been added allows Aadhaar holders to re-update the details with proof of name and photo identity proof and address (name and address) of the place of residence. With the latest move by UIDI, people will get a chance to re-check their Aadhaar details. The fee for online facility will be Rs 25 and for updating information through Aadhaar center, Rs 50 will be charged. Apart from this, camps will be set up around ration shops and local haats, sources said.
