India Post Payment Bank: India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has crossed the 50 million customer mark. With this, it has become the third largest payment bank after Paytm and Airtel Payments Bank. IPPB said in a statement on Tuesday that with the help of a network of 1.36 lakh post offices, five crore accounts have been opened. Out of these, about 1.2 lakh post offices are present in rural areas, providing banking services at home to customers with the help of their 1.47 lakh banking service providers.

Vineet Pandey, Secretary, Department of Posts said, “At India Post, we are committed to be the largest financially inclusive network in the country. To become 50 million customers in a short span of three years speaks volumes about the success of this model of providing affordable and seamless service.

Terming it as a proud moment, J Venkataramu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), IPPB said, “We have been able to grow our customer base with seamless banking and G2S4 services. This is how we continue to gain strength.” The first-ranked Paytm Payments Bank has over 64 million customers, while Airtel Payments Bank has 60 million customers.

How to open account online (How to open account in IPPB)

  • First of all you have to download IPPB mobile app.
  • Open the IPPB Mobile Banking App and click on ‘Open Account’.
  • Enter your PAN card number and Aadhar card number.
  • After this you will get an OTP on the linked mobile number. Enter that OTP.
  • Now you have to fill the name of your parents, educational qualification, address and nominee etc.
  • After entering this information click on submit. With this the account will be opened.
  • You can use this account through the app.
