Etah. Aliganj Kotwali police of Etah district has arrested Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and district panchayat member Vinod Yadav under several serious charges including attempt to murder.
Aliganj Police Officer (CO) Vikrant Trivedi said that Yadav has been arrested in a case registered on September 18 last year in Kotwali in connection with the allegations of dacoity, attempt to murder and harassment of a woman. Yadav was absconding for a long time.
According to the police, Samajwadi Party leader and former MLA Rameshwar Singh Yadav and former district panchayat president Jugendra Singh Yadav are Vinod’s uncles. The police have attached properties of Rameshwar and Jugendra in various criminal cases. Jugendra’s wife Rekha Yadav is the district panchayat president of Etah. She and her husband are absconding after a case was registered under the Gangs Act. Rameshwar Yadav is in jail. (Language)
