The secret of Bihar’s eight votes

NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu got eight extra votes in Bihar in the presidential election. 125 NDA MLAs cast their vote in Bihar. But Murmu got a total of 133 votes. Now the question is, where did these eight extra votes come from? Which party’s MLAs did cross voting? Rashtriya Janata Dal has 80 MLAs in Bihar and Congress has 19 MLAs. Apart from this, there are 16 MLAs from Left parties and one MLA from Asaduddin Owaisi’s party. The chances of Left and Owaisi MLAs voting for the BJP candidate are slim. So, MLAs of RJD or Congress have done cross voting.

It is more likely that Congress MLAs may have done cross voting. Because for the last few days it has been discussed that some BJP leaders in Bihar are trying to make a dent in the Congress. Anyway, from the neighboring states of Jharkhand to Assam and Gujarat to Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Congress MLAs have done cross voting. The regional parties have remained united as compared to the Congress. But BJP leaders in Bihar have started campaigning that RJD MLAs did cross voting.

There is no basis for this claim as it cannot be ascertained which of the eight opposition MLAs cross-voted. Nevertheless, BJP state president Sanjay Jaiswal targeted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and said without naming that he considers his leaders as pudding, shepherd, so his MLAs are angry and they voted for the BJP candidate.
