Netflix lost 200,000 subscribers in the first three months of this year
When OTT platforms started, there was talk of showing no ads and people used to enjoy watching web series or movies in one go without ads. Due to this many TV viewers also started turning to OTT. However, now that Netflix’s customer-only revenue model has no longer worked, Netflix has announced that it will start showing ads on its platform. Now Netflix has joined hands with Microsoft for this. Microsoft will serve as the technology and sales partner for Netflix. Netflix had previously approached both Google and Chrome Set for this partnership.
Let us tell you that Netflix lost 200,000 subscribers in the first three months of this year. After that the company had also done some layoffs last month. The company has officially acknowledged that the success has not been as expected in India. Even though the Netflix plan prices in India are very low as compared to other countries, it has not been able to find the target customers. Finally it introduced the cheapest plan which works on only one mobile but that also doesn’t work.
