IPL 2021: After the shift of IPL 14 to Dubai, the rhythm of Mumbai Indians has deteriorated. The team of Mumbai Indians has to face defeat in two consecutive matches. The team’s bowling coach Shane Bond, however, has defended his bowling attack. Shane Bond says that giving runs in the death overs is not a problem for the team.
Mumbai Indians lost by seven wickets against KKR. After this defeat, Mumbai’s team has come to the sixth place in the points table with eight points. After the defeat against KKR, the road to reaching the playoffs has also become difficult for Mumbai Indians.
Bond said, “I don’t think giving runs in the middle and death overs is a problem because you see our bowling group did a very good job in the tournament. When we played in Chennai, the wicket was very tough where we scored 150 and succeeded in defending it.”
Bowling not a cause for concern
Bond further said, “In the first match against Chennai Super Kings, we did well with the bowling but we suffered due to some big overs. We stopped them on a good score but could not achieve the target.”
Bond said that other than Mumbai, no team can be in such a rhythm if its bowling department is weak. Bond said, “We have won four out of the last six tournaments in which the bowlers have contributed. We will improve and I am sure in the next few days we will bowl well and create pressure. I am not worried because we have done well. Played but hope to do better in the next matches.”
