Tension over burning of girl alive in Jharkhand

Ranchi/Dumka. Tension has escalated between two communities after a young woman was burnt alive in Jharkhand’s Dumka. Shahrukh, a Muslim youth who failed in unrequited love, burnt a Hindu girl alive by pouring petrol on her. That girl has died. Tension has arisen in many areas including Dumka regarding this. Along with the workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, BJP leaders have also made it a big issue. Former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das has said that efforts are being made to change the population structure through love jihad.

On one hand, the girl’s family members and BJP leaders are calling this girl named Ankita a minor, while on the other hand the administration is telling the girl as an adult. The BJP has also opposed this and demanded the suspension of the district’s SDPO Noor Mustafa. However, in view of the increasing tension in the area after the death of the girl, the administration has imposed Section 144 and banned the gathering of people.

The Chief Minister of the state Hemant Soren has announced an assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the girl and asked them to settle the case at the earliest by hearing in fast track. The accused Shahrukh has been arrested. The Chief Minister has said that there is no place in the society for such incidents. Such people should never be forgiven. They should be punished severely.

Chief Minister tweeted – Heartfelt tribute to Ankita daughter. Ankita’s family members have been directed to fast track execution of this heinous incident with an assistance of Rs 10 lakh. The Director General of Police has also been directed to give an early report on the progress of research by the ADG rank officer in the said case. It is being told that after dying, Ankita took the name of another person “Chhotu” apart from the accused Shahrukh in her statement. She said that the duo threw petrol at her from outside the window while she was sleeping and set it on fire.
