Team India kneeled in front of Australia in the very first match, embarrassing defeat by 4 wickets

New Delhi . Team India has kneeled in front of Australia in the first match of the 3 T20 match series being played with Australia. Despite scoring a huge score of 208 runs in 20 overs, Team India’s bowlers could not stop the Australian batsmen and the team had to face an embarrassing defeat by 4 wickets.

Team India’s bowlers looked battered in front of the Australian batsmen. Harshal Patel made 22 runs in the 18th over, while fast and experienced bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar made 16 runs in the 19th over. Captain Rohit Sharma also appeared helpless in front of the Australian batsmen on the field.

Fifties from Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul
Playing first, India had scored a mammoth score of 208 runs in 20 overs. With the help of half-centuries from Hardik Pandya (71′) and KL Rahul (55), Team India gave a huge target of 209 runs. Suryakumar Yadav (46) also contributed significantly in the middle order. But the bowlers of Team India got trapped in front of the Australian batsmen and Team India had to face a crushing defeat by 4 wickets.

Team India bowlers got beaten up
Bhuvneshwar Kumar plundered 52 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 13 and did not even get a wicket. Whereas, Harshal Patel gave away 49 runs in 4 overs. Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also proved costly against Australia. He conceded 42 runs in 3.2 overs like freebies. However, left-arm spinner Axar Patel took 3 for 17 in 4 overs.

The second match will be played here on September 23.
The team has shown its spirits by achieving such a big target in 19.2 overs. Australia have taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. Now the second match of the series will be played on 23 September in Nagpur.
