According to reports, Ravi Shastri does not want to extend his contract. Not only this, BCCI has also started looking for a new coach for Team India.

Ravi Shastri is currently 59 years old. Ravi Shastri can remain the coach of Team India for the next few months even in the event of an extension of the contract. According to the report of Inside Sports, the BCCI had offered Ravi Shastri to extend the contract for the tour of South Africa. Ravi Shastri, however, has refused to extend his contract.

Ravi Shastri has been associated with Team India for the last seven years. In 2014, Ravi Shastri was associated with Team India as a director. In 2016, however, Ravi Shastri had to stay away from Team India for a year after Anil Kumble became the coach.
