Teach children biography of great men: Gehlot

Jaipur. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that children and young generation should be taught great culture and biography of great men along with education.

Shri Gehlot was addressing the inaugural function of the State Level Child Rights Week organized on the occasion of Children’s Day at the Chief Minister’s residence. He asked the children to read the biographies of great men who played an important role in freedom and progress of the country including Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Children become cultured by knowing the golden history of the country. Adopt the great tradition and culture of the country and the state and dedicate yourself for the progress of the country.

The Chief Minister said that it is a big responsibility of the government and the society to prepare a cultured generation with better education, and health. The Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Bal Sahitya Akademi has been formed by the state government to increase the interest of children in literature. Along with this, the future of the children is also being protected through many schemes. He said that the next budget of the State Government, committed to child protection, would be dedicated to the youth and students.

Shri Gehlot said that the government is working continuously for the protection of child interests in the state. The Department and the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights are also playing an effective role in this direction. It is our endeavor that no child in the state should be deprived of their rights. Give them every opportunity to move forward.

The Chief Minister along with wife Sunita Gehlot inaugurated the Children’s Week by blowing balloons with the children who became Chacha Nehru at the ceremony. The children greeted him by presenting him with a rose flower. After this, he also released the poster of the State Level Child Rights Week. During this, children demonstrated self-defense techniques and sang a song showing the importance of daughters. During the function, Shri Gehlot flagged off the child friendly Panchayat campaign awareness chariot.

In the function, Child Empowerment and Women and Child Development Minister Mamta Bhupesh, Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Chairperson Sangeeta Beniwal, members of the Commission, State Head of UNICEF Ezavel Wardam, Secretary of Government of Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Samit Sharma, Child-Friendly Representatives of organizations working in the field of child rights protection and children were present, including Vipin Tiwari, the convener of the Panchayat campaign.
