Tata launches ‘Chhota Hathi’ that can run 150 km on a single charge
This is the first electric vehicle by an Indian company in the commercial vehicle category.
Tata, which has a unique position in the field of vehicles, has launched its electric commercial vehicle Tata Ace EV. This is the first electric vehicle by an Indian company in the commercial vehicle category. Tata Ace is popularly known as ‘Little Elephant’ or Chhota Hathi among the people. Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles has installed a 21.3 kWh battery pack in the Ace EV. It can run up to 154 km on a single charge. This electric commercial vehicle generates 36 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque.
Let us tell you that the battery of Tata Ace EV gets charged from 10% to 80% in 105 minutes with the fast charger. Tata has given 2 charging ports for fast charging in this vehicle. It takes 7-8 hours for the flower to be charged with a home charger. Tata Ace EV comes with IP67 rating which makes this vehicle water and dust resistant. Along with this, the company has developed this electric commercial vehicle as a delivery vehicle. For this, we have consulted big retail companies like Amazon, Big Basket, Flipkart who better understand the need of carrier vehicles. The cargo space of this vehicle is 6000 liters (208 cubic feet). The company claims that its payload capacity is up to 600 kg.
The ex-showroom price of this vehicle starts from Rs. 6.50 lakhs. Whereas the price of a standard vehicle starts from Rs 4 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.5 lakh. The company claims that 39000 bookings have been received for this vehicle.
