Former media manager and journalist of Afghanistan Cricket Board, M Ibrahim Momand has given this information in one of his tweets. He wrote, “The broadcast of IPL 2021 has been banned in Afghanistan. This decree has been given due to the possibility of anti-Islamic content being broadcast during IPL matches.” He tweeted this after the first match of the second phase of IPL played between Chennai and Mumbai in UAE.

Test match against Australia canceled due to Taliban decree

Let us tell you that the Taliban regime had ordered a ban on women playing cricket and other sports in Afghanistan. The Australian Cricket Board (CA) was shocked by this and decided to cancel the proposed one-off Test match with Afghanistan. This test match was to be played from 27 November. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) had appealed to the CA not to cancel the match. The board said it was “incapable of changing the current situation in Afghanistan.”

Naseeb Khan appointed new CEO of ACB

The ACB on Monday announced that it has appointed Naseeb Khan as the new CEO. Khan will replace Hamid Shinwari, who was appointed to the post in April 2021. ACB’s tweet read, “Naseeb Khan has been introduced as the new CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) by the Chairman of the Board, Azizullah. He holds a Master’s degree and also has knowledge of cricket.”

Afghanistan team has to play T20 World Cup in UAE itself
