Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said on Saturday that he has received a complaint against actress Richa Chadda for her tweet which referred to the Galwan Valley conflict in the year 2020. The matter has been referred to the police for legal opinion, he said. He criticized the actress saying that her tweet showed her tukde tukde mentality.
Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi had given a statement that the Indian Army is awaiting orders from the government to recapture Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In response, Chadda tweeted in English, Galwan hi kahta hai. Many celebrities, net users criticized Chadda for mocking the sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.
In a video statement on Saturday, Mishra said the actress should learn to differentiate between the army and cinema. Challenging Chadha to live the life of soldiers living in bad weather to protect the country, the minister said, “There is a difference between cinema and real life.”
Mishra said, his remarks have hurt the patriots. This comment shows his piecemeal mindset. I have received a complaint against him and have forwarded it to the police for legal opinion. The minister also pointed out that Chadha did not utter a word on the murder of Shraddha Walker (27), who was hacked into 35 pieces by her live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawalla at their home in south Delhi’s Mehrauli.
Following his criticism, Chadda apologized on social media, saying that he did not intend to hurt the sentiments of the Indian Army. India and China have been locked in a border standoff in eastern Ladakh for over 29 months. In June 2020, tensions between India and China escalated after the skirmish in the Galvan Valley in eastern Ladakh.
