FIR registered on ‘hate speech’ in Dilshad Garden

New Delhi. Delhi Police has registered an FIR against the organizers of an event in the national capital. It is alleged that some of the speakers at the event had allegedly made hate speeches.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) R. Sathyasundaram said an FIR has been registered against the organizers under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) for not taking permission from the police. The event was organized by several Hindu organizations including Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal said that they have not received any information about the FIR.

BJP MP from Delhi Pravesh Verma on Sunday courted controversy by saying that a particular community should be completely boycotted in protest against the murder of a Hindu youth in northeast Delhi. Manish (19) was allegedly stabbed to death in North-East Delhi’s Sunder Nagri area on October 1. The police have arrested all the accused Alam, Bilal and Faizan in the case.

In a purported video of the event organized on Sunday to protest the killing of a Hindu youth, Verma can be heard saying, “Wherever they meet you, there is only one way to straighten them out – complete boycott.” do you agree with me (Language)
