Light rain improves air quality in Delhi

New Delhi. The morning on Saturday started with rain showers in the national capital and the air quality improved. According to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the air quality index (AQI) at around 9 am was 41, which falls in the ‘good’ category.

It is noteworthy that AQI between zero to 50 is ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and An AQI between 401 and 500 is considered ‘severe’.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the 24-hour average AQI in the city was recorded at 55 on Friday, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category.

Waterlogging has also been reported from many areas after rain in Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be generally cloudy during the day and there is a possibility of moderate rain.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature was recorded at 20.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday. However, the maximum temperature is likely to remain up to 25 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD, the relative humidity in the air was recorded at 100 per cent at 8.30 am.
