Two new judges took oath in Patna High Court

Patna, Two newly appointed judges of the Patna High Court were administered the oath of office by the Chief Justice of the High Court, Sanjay Karol on Tuesday. Justice Karol administered the oath to two newly appointed judges Rajiv Rai and Harish Kumar in a simple ceremony held in the High Court premises. Both the judges were earlier practicing as advocates in the Patna High Court. With two judges taking oath, the number of judges in the High Court has increased to 29, while in the Patna High Court, 24 posts of judges are still vacant.

As an advocate, Rai has generally been handling constitutional, criminal and administrative matters. Justice Kumar is said to be an expert in university, education and constitutional matters. Several judges of Patna High Court, Advocate General Lalit Kishor, Public Prosecutor Prashant Pratap, President of Advocates Association Yogesh Chandra Verma and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
