According to Mahanagar Gas Limited, the price hike has come amid rising natural gas prices internationally and domestically. Over the past several weeks, suppliers and distributors were forced to cut industrial supplies due to rising prices. This is the sixth increase in prices since April this year.

After the latest hike, the CNG price in Mumbai has increased to Rs 86 per kg. At the same time, the price of domestic PNG i.e. piped natural gas has now increased to Rs 52.50 per unit. “Due to the significant increase in gas cost, we have decided to cover the cost,” MGL said in a statement.
