Bollywood was leaning towards the boycott

Now Bollywood should make films keeping in mind the international audience. Perhaps they are talking about such films which can run abroad and on OTT as much as possible. This means that if a film is not able to play in theaters in India due to some reason, then it can defend its cost on OTT.

life on screen

The issue of boycott of films does not seem to end. Now Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Vikram Vedha’, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s ‘Brahmastra’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathan’ are the most targeted in this matter. The discussion of their boycott has started on social media due to different reasons. The first of these is ‘Brahmastra’ to be released. The long awaited Ayan Mukerji directorial also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Nagarjuna. It is being told to be a very big budget film and huge expenditure is also being spent on its promotion. Veteran filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who was invited for its promotion program in Hyderabad, said that creating the world depicted in the film is not easy. According to him, people will get to learn a lot about their history and mythology from this film because the world of weapons has been shown in detail in it.

Rajamouli’s words do not give any assurance about this film. It cannot be said what will happen to ‘Brahmastra’ amid the Boycott campaign. The amazing thing is that even before its release, it has been announced that two more parts will be made. The discussion of taking Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the next part has also started. According to this discussion, Deepika will become Jal Devi in this.

Meanwhile, it is being said that Aamir Khan will not take his fee for ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, who became a victim of the Boycott campaign, which could earn only about 63 crores in three weeks in India. Although the producer company Viacom18 had claimed that the film did not cause much damage, but perhaps Aamir wants to reduce that loss further. In a way, they are taking the responsibility of the film’s flop. It is necessary to mention this interesting incident here that some time ago during the promotion of ‘Darlings’ Alia Bhat had said that if a film flops, then the actors working in it should reduce their fees. When she said this, her husband Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Shamshera’ flopped and now the ‘Brahmastra’ of both husband and wife is at stake.

By the way, some people still believe that if the content of the film is good, then the film will definitely work. That is, despite a campaign like Boycott, it will run. Swara Bhaskar went further in this matter. He said on a channel that almost the same is happening with Hindi films as it has happened with Rahul Gandhi. He said that Rahul Gandhi was repeatedly called Pappu and many people started believing so. But I have met Rahul Gandhi and he is a sensible man. According to Swara, the same ‘puppuification’ is happening to her by calling Bollywood useless.

It is clear that Swara Bhaskar had no solution to this problem while Bollywood is facing the concern of boycott and negative campaigns. In such a situation, actor and producer Farhan Akhtar has suggested a way. According to him, now Bollywood should make films keeping in mind the international audience. Perhaps they are talking about such films which can run abroad and on OTT as much as possible. This means that if a film is not able to play in theaters in India due to some reason, then it can defend its cost on OTT. But this method is not suitable for theaters and multiplexes. The multiplex companies of the country are already worried about the idea that they do not know what is going to happen to them. People have seen many single screen theaters being demolished and replaced by multiplexes. Will they become redundant now? The concern of multiplex companies can also be understood from the fact that on National Cinema Day on September 16, multiplexes across the country will get tickets for only Rs 75.
