India vs Afghanistan: The Indian cricket team finally got its first victory in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Team India defeated Afghanistan by 66 runs in the Super 12 match played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Electing to bat after losing the toss, the Indian team scored 210 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs. In response, Afghanistan’s team could only score 144 runs in the allotted overs for the loss of seven wickets. This is Afghanistan’s second defeat in this tournament.

Afghanistan had lost their five wickets for just 69 runs in the 12th over at one time. Then it seemed as if Team India would win by a big margin. But captain Mohammad Nabi and all-rounder Karim Janat added 57 runs for the sixth wicket to reduce the margin of their team’s defeat significantly. Mohammad Nabi scored 35 runs in 32 balls with the help of two fours and a six. At the same time, Janat played an innings of 42 not out in 22 balls. Three fours and two sixes came off his bat.

Apart from this, Hazratullah Zazai scored 13 for Afghanistan, Mohammad Shahzad scored 00, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 19 runs in 10 balls, Gulabdin Naib scored 18 runs in 20 balls and Najibullah Zadran scored 11 runs in 13 balls.

For India, Mohammed Shami took three wickets for 32 runs in four overs. Also, Ravichandran Ashwin, who returned to limited overs cricket after almost four years from this match, performed brilliantly. He took two wickets for just 14 runs in his four overs.

Rohit and Rahul got off to a bang

After losing the toss to bat first, Team India got a great start today by openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. Both added 140 runs for the first wicket in 14.4 overs. Rohit was dismissed after scoring 74 runs in 47 balls. He hit eight fours and three sixes. At the same time, KL Rahul played an innings of 69 runs in 48 balls. During this, six fours and two sixes came off Rahul’s bat.

After getting a great start, captain Kohli sent explosive batsman Rishabh Pant at number three. Pant scored an unbeaten 27 runs in just 13 balls with the help of three sixes. At the same time, Hardik Pandya, who came to bat at number four, played an inning of 35 not out in 13 balls. Four fours and two sixes came off Pandya’s bat.

On the other hand, Gulabdin Naib and Karim Janat got one wicket each for Afghanistan. Star spinner Rashid Khan did not get any success. He gave a total of 36 runs in his four overs.
