During a recent interview, the actor told that his wife Mridula is going to debut with ‘Sherdil’. In this film, she will be seen in the role of a Bengali woman. Pankaj said, ‘My wife Mridula is making her debut with the film Sherdil. He has given a scene in the film. Director Sirjit Mukherjee who has a Bengali connection with my wife called my wife on the sets and promised her that he would give her a scene. My wife immediately said yes as she got a chance to wear a beautiful Bengali sari in the film. It was a very easy bribe for them, they did not get money for it.’
Talking about the love story of Pankaj and Mridula, both of them met in a marriage in the year 1993. Both were in school at that time. Both later told their parents about their relationship. After this, both got married in the year 2004. Both have a daughter Ashi Tripathi.
