Because the owl is sitting on every credit

Looking at what is going on in the Indian sports federations and their apex body, the Indian Olympic Committee, to say that India is moving towards becoming a sports superpower would never be correct. Every day shameful acts of our sports administrators and sports officials are coming to the fore.

IOA officials are completely naked. Some are facing allegations of cheating and bribery, while some are accused of adultery with a female player. When news comes that one officer is celebrating with women players and coaches, while the other is caught smuggling liquor abroad. The very next day there is a counterattack and a senior officer is brought down, as has happened recently.

Although the cases of top officials of the IOA and sports associations are going on in the court, it is hardly possible to bring down the mountain of failure that Indian sports have created in the 75 years of independence. Sports experts, sportspersons, officials and former Olympians are perplexed as to how long our sports bosses will continue to ruin the country’s sports with their misdeeds.

According to some former players, how can the head of the house and who is not of very pure conduct, how can it be good? How will Indian sports progress? There are very few sports federations in which everything is going well. Some president is facing allegations of corruption, while someone’s secretary is accused of alcoholism and sexual misconduct with women workers.

There is a huge mess going on in most of the accounts. Every other day and every other week news is coming that a coach of such a game, a masseur or a federation official has been caught misbehaving with women players. Recently, some teams had to be recalled by the Sports Ministry from abroad because the Gaya coach with the team was misbehaving with the women players.

Strict action is being taken by the government against the sports federations who ignore the sports code. The recognition of some one is also being canceled, but the question arises that when will our officers, who have fun on the money and sweat of the countrymen, improve? How long will women players continue to be exploited at their hands? Why are those countries maligning the name of the country abroad and for how long will they continue to be saved? The cases of corruption and malpractices are increasing in sports federations and IOA.

Most of the cases are pending in court. But what will be settled in the court? According to some former players, officials and jurists, all sports federations and their member units should be dissolved at once so that the reins of sports can be handed over to those with a fresh clean image, which is very unlikely. Because the owl is sitting on every reputation.
