Abhijit Bose Head of WhatsApp India resigns

New Delhi, After the removal of Twitter’s top executives and layoffs of employees, layoffs are underway in almost all big tech companies and resignations of top executives are taking place. The new name in this episode is that of Abhijit Bose, the head of WhatsApp in India. Bose resigned from his post on Tuesday. Apart from him, Rajeev Agarwal, India’s Director of Public Policy of Facebook’s parent company Meta, has also resigned from his post.

Following the sudden resignation of both the top executives, the company has named Shivnath Thukral, director of public policy for WhatsApp in India, as director of public policy for all Meta platforms in India. Significantly, Meta Company is the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Earlier this month, META chief in India Ajit Mohan had resigned from his post.

However, Meta has issued a statement saying – Abhijit Bose, the India head of WhatsApp, has resigned. Meanwhile, Rajeev Agarwal has decided to step down from his role at Meta in search of better opportunities. The company wishes both of them all the best for their future endeavours. WhatsApp chief Will Cathcart has thanked Abhijit Bose for his outstanding contribution as the first head of WhatsApp in India.
