Rohit Sharma: Rohit Sharma has been given the command of India’s T20 and ODI team. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that the selectors have decided to make Rohit the captain of the T20 and ODI teams. He told ANI, this is a call that the BCCI and the selectors took together.

Actually, the BCCI had requested Virat not to step down as the T20I captain, but apparently, he did not agree. The selectors did not feel it right then. The selectors felt that two different formats of the white ball should not have different captains. Ganguly said that Rohit is a capable captain.

He said that Rohit has a good captaincy record in the ODI format. Rohit has captained India in 10 ODIs so far, out of which 8 have been won. He also captained in the 2018 Asia Cup. Team India became the champion of that tournament. Rohit has also captained in 22 T20Is, out of which Team India has been victorious in 18. After being made the captain of the T20 team, Team India under the leadership of Rohit defeated New Zealand 3-0 in the T20 series held last month (November).

What will be the salary of Rohit Sharma

Rohit will now captain Team India in two formats. This is a kind of promotion of Rohit. So in such a situation, will their salary also increase? So the answer is no. Rohit Sharma gets 7 crore rupees every year from BCCI. He comes under BCCI’s A+ contract. Only three players are included in this category. Apart from Rohit, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah fall in the A+ category. Rohit will still continue to get this amount, because the contract does not change after changing the captaincy.
