In India, online payment services like Paytm, Google Pay and PhonePe run on Unified Payments Interface (UPI). PhonePe is also one of such UPI platform, which allows you to transfer payment between any two parties without using account number and IFSC code. All you need to do is enter the mobile number/VPA of a receiver and you will be able to send money to the receiver.

UPI uses a secure method of transferring money and making payments, in case your phone is stolen, your bank accounts can be misused. If you lose your phone, deactivating or blocking UPI payments becomes one of the most important tasks to keep your money safe.

If you are a Phonepe user and your phone is lost, then you need to deactivate or block your PhonePe account. If there is negligence in this then your bank account may become empty.

If you have lost your phone, you can call PhonePe’s helpline number 08068727374 from any number. Don’t forget to put zero with this number.

As soon as the call goes, first of all you will be asked in which language do you want to speak Hindi or English. Select your language from these.

After this, you will be asked whether you want the information of the PhonePe account associated with the number from which you are calling or if you want the information of the account associated with any other phone number.
