Kaithal. In the Panchayati Raj Elections in Kaithal, Haryana, 23 Sarpanchs have been elected unopposed. District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Sangeeta Tetarwal said in a statement issued here today that Rs 11 lakh would be given to each panchayat for development works. He said that by electing a Sarpanch unopposed, it strengthens rural harmony and brotherhood. He said that in Guhla block, the Sarpanch has been elected unopposed in maximum 12 villages. (talk)
