In this letter written on 22 September, Ruva Shah had said, ‘My father Altaf Ahmed Shah is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. He has been feeling ill for the last two weeks. He is constantly demanding from the jail administration to take him to the hospital. When he was taken to Deendayal Hospital in Janakpuri, Delhi, from there he was referred to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. So that they can get better treatment in future. However, after this he was sent back to Tihar Jail.

He needs treatment at the earliest. He has said that his father’s lungs are not working properly. Oxygen level is decreasing. He is not letting us meet him while he has been put on ventilator. He was not admitted to AIIMS.
