It appears to be a committee of government type and of pro-government groups., who would recommend, This can probably be guessed from now on. Apart from this, many other such unnecessary issues have also been added to the agenda of the committee.

The Central Government had promised the United Kisan Morcha to form a committee to look into the issue of mandatory minimum support price. Then his priority was to end the agitation led by the Front against the three agricultural laws. On the basis of that promise, after the farmers withdrew from the three borders of Delhi, the matter was put on hold. Now after several months this committee has been formed, so the party from whom the idea of forming it came under the agreement has been completely ignored. It seems to be a committee of government type and pro-government groups, what it will recommend can probably be guessed from now on. Apart from this, many other issues have also been added to the agenda of the committee, which are not related to MSP. In such a situation, it is not surprising that the United Kisan Morcha has rejected this committee. The result will be that whatever recommendations the committee makes, it will not end the controversy and debate that had arisen during the farmers’ agitation of 2020-21.

The Agriculture Ministry has said that the 26-member committee constituted will consider suggestions to make the MSP regime more “effective and transparent”. It will also consider the question of giving more autonomy to the Commission for Agricultural Prices and Costs, a price recommendation body for agricultural products. The committee has also been asked to consider promoting zero-budget based agriculture, diversifying crops, strengthening agricultural marketing according to the changing needs of the country and promoting natural farming. It is worth noting that there is no mention in the government notification that the committee will also consider the legal guarantee of MSP. In this, only the idea of making the MSP system transparent has been said. So the question is, how would the United Kisan Morcha accept this committee? Rather, his opinion seems to be justified that this committee is a part of the official style of laxity.
