Pakistan urged the international community, said- help revive the economy in Afghanistan

United Nations. Pakistan has urged the international community to immediately provide $4.2 billion in aid for humanitarian and economic revival in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Nations, Munir Akram, said on Friday, “We need to revive Afghanistan’s economy, its banking system, and for this purpose, Afghanistan’s assets held abroad need to be brought back into the country’s financial system.” ”

Akram also urged the international community to meet the UN Secretary-General’s appeal for $4.2 billion in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. It is noteworthy that this appeal was made after the Taliban captured Kabul in the year 2021, after the United Nations froze the assets of Afghanistan worth seven billion dollars.

He said that the first priority of the international community should be to end the humanitarian crisis in this country. He told that Pakistan is worried about peace in Afghanistan. He said that for the last 40 years, more than 30 lakh Afghan citizens have taken refuge in it. Referring to America’s decision to freeze Afghanistan assets, Akram said that we know all the legal arguments to get these resources back.

He said that there is a need for a roadmap for the development of Afghanistan’s economy. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is carefully considering bringing frozen Afghan assets abroad back into the country’s system. Akram said Afghanistan’s neighboring countries would face another influx of refugees if the humanitarian crisis did not end. Pakistan is also worried about terrorism emerging from Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan stands with the international community on its concerns regarding the rights and inclusivity of women in Afghanistan. But they have to see the actual situation there.
