T20 World Cup: Former captain Asghar Afghan, who was included in the Afghanistan team for the T20 World Cup, will play the last match of his cricket career today. Today (Sunday) Afghanistan is against Namibia. After this match, Asghar will retire from all forms of cricket. They have made this announcement a day before. The Afghanistan Cricket Board has also welcomed his decision.
The 33-year-old Asghar played against Pakistan in the last match, in which he could score just 10 runs. At the same time, he was not included in the team against Scotland.

Asghar has played 74 T20 International matches. In this, he has 1351 runs in his account at an average of 21. At the same time, in 114 ODIs, he has scored 2424 runs at an average of 24.73. Asghar has also played 6 test matches. In this, he has scored 440 runs at an average of 44. He started his Test career against India only.
Asghar led the Afghan team in 59 ODIs and 52 T20Is. He has been the most successful captain in international T20 matches. Under Asghar’s captaincy, Afghanistan won 42 out of 52 matches. Whereas under Dhoni’s captaincy, India won 41 matches and lost 28 matches. In the year 2019, the Afghan Cricket Board removed Asghar from the captaincy, applying the rule of different captains for all three formats of cricket.
